Could your eye test be free?
Lots of people in West Bromwich qualify for a free NHS eye test without realising. Tick anything that applies to you.
Not eligible? We also offer private eye tests, and the check-up is just as thorough.

If none do, you can still book a private eye test. Call us and we’ll tell you the price.

- Free for under-16s, over-60s and many others
- Diabetic eye screening by a trained screener
- Referral letters for your GP when you need one

Urgent eye care (CUES)
Red, painful or sore eyes, new flashes or floaters, or something stuck in your eye. We’re a registered CUES practice.

Children’s glasses
Eye tests are free on the NHS until 16. We fit small frames from hospital prescriptions too, in colours and styles children actually want to wear.

Contact lenses
We’ll find the right lens for you, including RGP lenses, and teach you how to put them in and take them out.

Bone conduction hearing specs
Glasses with built-in hearing aid technology, for people who can’t wear in-ear hearing aids.
Sudden problem with your eyes? Call us today.
Red or painful eyes, new flashes or floaters, or something in your eye. As a CUES practice we can see urgent problems quickly through the NHS.

Frames from free, right up to designer
Whatever your budget, there’s a wall of frames to try on. Ian and Kathryn will help you find a pair that suits your face, your prescription and your pocket.
Ask about multi anti-reflection (MAR) coatings. Independent tests found they can improve vision by up to 8%.

A family business for over 70 years
Dennis Attewell opened his first practice in 1953. Ian Hardwick joined him in 1982, aged 18, and today Ian and Joanne run the practice on the same values: good value, family-friendly, high quality eyecare for the local community.
